Andrew Szilva joined FairVote Illinois in 2019 and became the organization’s executive director when it incorporated in 2020. With an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from University of Illinois, a Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemistry from UCLA, and two years as a visiting student researcher in the Applied Mathematics department at Princeton University, Andrew has a formal scientific and technical background. He also recently completed an MBA from Geis School of Business and has over fifteen years’ experience in the private sector managing systems / optimization projects at Fortune 500 companies in the transportation and logistics sectors. He leans on this experience to help coordinate the grassroots organizing efforts that are central to FairVote Illinois’ mission.
