Act Now to Ban Assault Weapons

It's time to ban assault weapons in Illinois! Take a minute to submit a witness slip supporting HB 5855 by Monday, December 12.

HB 5855 would make it unlawful to manufacture, deliver, sell, purchase or possess assault weapons in Illinois. It is being heard in the Illinois House Judiciary Criminal Committee on December 12 at 11 am.

Submitting a witness slip is quick and easy. If it’s your first time, follow these tips when filling yours out:

  • IDENTIFICATION: Under Business you can enter "N/A" or "self", also give yourself a title or “None”

  • REPRESENTATION: Write “Self”

  • POSITION: Choose “Proponent”

  • TESTIMONY: Choose “Record of Appearance Only”
