Elizabeth "Joy" Guscott-Mueller

A practicing attorney and Managing Partner of Guscott Mueller Law, Elizabeth “Joy” Guscott-Mueller is a litigator. Her firm’s practice includes environmental, real estate, and estate planning matters as well as business transactions. She has served as an Electoral College Issues Specialist for the League of Women Voters-Illinois, Issues & Advocacy Committee (2019-2021), and currently serves as an Electoral College Committee member and Electoral College Research Sub-Committee member. Joy is also President of the League of Women Voters-Lake Michigan Region, a four state, fifty-two chapter Inter League Organization with a mission to protect and enhance Lake Michigan and its associated watershed. A member of the LWVUS Climate Change Interest Group (CIG) Steering Committee, Joy also serves as Chair of the CIG Water Subgroup. As a member of LWV of Lake Forest-Lake Bluff, past local league Board work includes service as Vice President of Program and Board Secretary. 

A member of U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois, Federal Trial Bar, Joy volunteers on its Pro Bono Panel, representing indigent clients in employment discrimination and civil rights litigation. She is also a member of the City of Lake Forest Legal Committee. Past community involvement includes service on the Lake Forest Elementary School Board and in leadership for many non-for-profit organizations. Joy holds B.A. and J.D. Degrees from University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, and a Masters of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary in Hyde Park.
