Bobbie Riedel

Bobbi Riedel is a nuclear engineering PhD candidate at the University of New Mexico where she also earned her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in nuclear engineering. Bobbi currently works at Los Alamos National Laboratory working on neutron transport code development and criticality safety method theory. Bobbi has been working with the LWV of New Mexico since 2020 when she gave a talk on Spent Nuclear Fuel (SNF) storage technology and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) application licensing for the proposed Consolidated Interim Storage Facilities (CISFs) in New Mexico and Texas. She has worked on the Interim Nuclear Waste Storage Committee as a technical expert and worked with Karen Douglas on developing the LWV of New Mexico Interim SNF position. Bobbi is also an active member of the American Nuclear Society and co-chairs the national student section committee and the diversity, equity, and inclusion committee.
