Dr. Lisa Lucile Owens

Dr. Lisa Lucile Owens is a professor at the University of Massachusetts School of Law. She earned her undergraduate degree in human rights from Birmingham-Southern College, her JD from Boston College, an LLM in banking and financial law from Boston University, and a PhD (Sociology, 2020) from Columbia University.

Professor Owens served as a lecturer in sociology at Columbia University, and her research explores topics in inequality, public housing and homelessness. She has published scholarship in, among others, Sociological Methodology, Critical Sociology, and the Stanford Law & Policy Review.
