Celebrating a More Inclusive Future

We were honored to speak at a press conference held Saturday, December 16, to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Repeal of the Chinese Exclusion Act.

The Chinese Exclusion Act was a U.S. law that severely limited all immigration from China for over 40 years, additionally excluding Chinese residents already settled in the country from U.S. citizenship.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core values of the League of Women Voters. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to the success of American democracy.

The event was hosted by the Chinese American Museum of Chicago and Chinese American Women in Action-CAWA.
