Officer Amy Cholewa

Speaker, LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF ILLINOIS, ISSUES BRIEFING 2022

Officer Amy Cholewa has been with the Buffalo Grove Police Department for seven years.  After graduating from the police academy and becoming a certified Police Officer through the State of Illinois, she returned to her department and completed her field training where she was then assigned to the Patrol Division.  Officer Cholewa served with the patrol division for three years before becoming part of the Community Relations Unit, where she has been the Crime Prevention Officer and a Public Information Officer.  Officer Cholewa believes she is fortunate to be part of a department as progressive and dynamic as Buffalo Grove, where she has the opportunity to receive the best training and always strive for more.  Some of her training and certifications include being a Peer Support member and part of the Crisis Intervention Team.  Additionally, she is a member of the Department’s Honor Guard team and she is a military veteran, having proudly served more than eight and a half years with the U.S. Army Reserves.
