Becky Simon has served on LWV of Illinois’ Board of Directors as president since June 2023.
Becky is a second generation League member. She is the immediate past president of LWV of Naperville, having served in that role from 2017 to 2021, and currently serves as Director of Advocacy. Working with the board, Becky brought in new members while retaining existing members, increased LWV of Naperville's impact and visibility, and modernized internal operations. Four years later, LWV Naperville has built strong relationships with their legislators, developed community partnerships, and reinvigorated membership.
Locally, Becky has provided leadership on advocating for new election equipment, a groundbreaking municipal ethics ordinance, an assault weapons sales ban, and a rapid response rally for the SCOTUS Dobbs Decision.
Becky spent a year working with the LWVUS National Structure Task Force, helping to draft and pass a new data and membership structure for the League of Women Voters nationally.
When she is not doing work for the League, Becky also works in local historic preservation, which lead her to uncovering the history of Women’s Suffrage in Naperville!
