The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization
that encourages informed and active participation in government,
works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and
influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The League is a volunteer organization whose members are its most
valuable asset. Women and men of voting age join the League to work
for civic improvement.
The League's legislative program consists of those governmental
issues that members have chosen for concerted study and action.
